Evaluation of Parent's Awareness, Knowledge and Attitude Regarding Myofunctional Appliances among Qassim Population, Saudi Arabia.

Open AccessObjectives: The current research was done to assess the parent's awareness, knowledge, and attitude regarding myofunctional appliance therapy. Materials and Methods: A parent survey was conducted using an internet questionnaire survey form. Ten questions about knowledge, awareness, and attitude regarding myofunctional appliance treatment were included in a structured questionnaire form produced for the parents who participated in the interviews. The obtained data was statistically analyzed. Result: The survey showed that 79% of parents were aware of the need for early orthodontic treatment during the growing period, 68% were aware of the importance of myofunctional therapy for skeletal dental problems, and only 19% of children were seeking orthodontic treatment. The attitude of parents toward treatment was average. Conclusion: According to the results of the current study, most parents are aware of the myofunctional appliance and are able to recognise a skeletal problem.
