Abstract
Open AccessTo supplement traditional preventive care models, we leveraged hospital admission to address overdue vaccinations, cancer screening, and laboratory tests. A total of 28.7% of patients had at least one overdue preventive care item; 70.9% of these patients received at least one preventive care intervention during their hospitalization. Patients experiencing housing instability or with more than a year since their last primary care appointment were more likely to benefit. This intervention demonstrates hospitalization as an opportunity to address inequities in preventive care. (Am J Public Health. 2025;115(12): 1997-2001. https://doi.org/10.2105/AJPH.2025.308218).
