Abstract
Open AccessOBJECTIVES: to develop and assess an educational video to promote self-efficacy among newborn caregivers. METHODS: a video development study conducted in five stages: content delimitation (narrative review and situational diagnosis); script content construction and validity (experts); video development; produced video validity (experts); and face validity (target audience). The Content Validity Index was used to analyze the data. RESULTS: the video "Cuidando do seu bebê" is 24 minutes long and covers the main home care practices for newborns. The assessment was carried out from the perspective of appearance and content, presenting a Content Validity Index higher than 0.80 in all validity stages. The target audience unanimously considered the video relevant and clear. CONCLUSIONS: the video is valid for use by healthcare professionals as a tool to promote the self-efficacy of newborn caregivers.
