Abstract
Open AccessEsophageal intramural pseudodiverticulosis and eosinophilic esophagitis are considered uncommon pathologies, while their concurrent presentation is exceptionally rare. We present, to our knowledge, the first case of this dual pathology in the context of an esophageal rupture. A 31-year-old man presented to the clinic for chronic dysphagia, 5 months after being treated conservatively for an esophageal rupture. Endoscopic examination revealed multiple outpouchings along the esophageal wall, the largest measuring 2 mm in diameter. Esophageal biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis. This rare presentation draws attention to a management challenge that lacks clear guidance in current literature.
