Abstract
Open AccessWe present a genome assembly from a female specimen of Philonicus albiceps (Dune Robberfly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Asilidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 253.92 megabases. Most of the assembly (98.91%) is scaffolded into 6 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.9 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 11,887 protein-coding genes.
