Abstract
Open AccessWe present a genome assembly from a male specimen of Anthrax anthrax (Anthracite Bee-fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Bombyliidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 334.62 megabases. The assembly is scaffolded into 9 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X and Y sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 20.34 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 10,570 protein-coding genes.
