Abstract
Open AccessHere, we report the complete Telomere-to-Telomere (T2T) genome of Oryza sativa L. subsp. indica Kato T197 from China. The 12 chromosomes were assembled employing a length of 395 Mbp, and a G + C content of 43.62% with 0 gap. We identify the 56,908 protein-coding genes, of which 56,016 (98.42%) were functionally annotated. Repetitive elements accounted for 218.8 Mb (55.38%) of the genome. Compared to the gap-free genome of ZS97, 878,662 genomic variants were identified. Our findings provide a high-quality genomic resource for functional genomics, evolutionary studies, and molecular breeding of indica rice.
