Abstract
Open AccessLysozyme (Lys) is a natural protein known for its bacteriostatic properties. However, its effectiveness against Gram-negative bacteria is limited, which poses challenges for its application in clinical settings. In this study, we developed a flower-like nanostructure composed of cobalt phosphate and Lys. This novel formulation significantly improved the inhibition of Gram-negative bacteria. The cobalt phosphate nanoflowers demonstrated the ability to effectively eliminate resistant bacterial strains under physiological conditions while exhibiting extremely low long-term systemic toxicity. These promising results indicate the potential of this approach for further biomedical applications and clinical translation.
