Abstract
Open AccessOligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) display functional plasticity beyond myelination. Kuwata et al. explore how hypoxia shapes OPC features after ischemic stroke. Combining single-cell transcriptomics with in vivo and ex vivo models, they reveal oxygen-dependent OPC phenotypes promoting angiogenesis and remyelination, highlighting OPC versatility and potential for novel stroke cell therapies.
