Abstract
Open AccessHydrocephalus is a frequently encountered finding on routine brain imaging. A common underlying cause is aqueductal stenosis, which is typically diagnosed in the pediatric population. However, approximately 10% of aqueductal stenosis cases are identified in adults. Posthydrocephalus corpus callosum damage has been reported primarily in patients undergoing decompressive surgery for chronic hydrocephalus such as aqueductal stenosis. This case report emphasizes the importance of recognizing these entities on imaging to avoid misdiagnosis and prevent unnecessary investigations or interventions.
