Abstract
Open AccessBlastomyces dermatitidis, a dimorphic fungal infection endemic to North America, is typically associated with pulmonary disease, but may also disseminate. We report the case of a 54-year-old female liver transplant recipient who developed blastomycosis with cutaneous and likely pulmonary involvement. She was successfully treated with posaconazole, an alternative to itraconazole with a favorable safety and interaction profile, demonstrating the therapeutic potential of posaconazole as a primary agent for blastomycosis in transplant recipients.
