Abstract
Open AccessHip joint preservation is influenced by 3 primary factors: femoroacetabular impingement, hip dysplasia or instability, and femoral torsion abnormalities. When femoral torsion abnormalities are ignored, patients may not achieve optimal clinical outcomes. A derotational femoral osteotomy is a critical procedure for correcting these torsional abnormalities. The purpose of this article is to provide a standardized and reproducible technique for derotational femoral osteotomy to address excessive femoral antetorsion or retrotorsion in patients experiencing intra-articular hip pain.
