Abstract
Open AccessPartial rotator cuff tears are a prevalent cause of shoulder pain and dysfunction; these are classified into bursal, articular, or within the tendon. Delamination negatively affects healing and clinical and radiologic outcomes, as these are frequently lined with synovial cells. Treatment remains controversial. Recent studies support patch augmentation to enhance healing and outcomes. While bursal-side augmentation has been reported, no study addresses intra-articular augmentation of PASTA (partial articular supraspinatus tendon avulsion) tears. Here we describe the intra-articular augmentation of a PASTA tear of a retracted deep laminar part with the long head of the biceps tendon.
