Arthroscopic Figure-of-8 Loop Suture Technique for Anatomical Repair of the Lateral Fibulotalocalcaneal Ligament Complex.

The surgical management of chronic lateral ankle instability continues to be a prominent topic in the field of sports medicine. Patients with chronic lateral ankle instability often experience damage to the lateral fibulotalocalcaneal ligament complex. In this paper, we present a straightforward, concise, and reproducible arthroscopic technique using the arthroscopic figure-of-8 loop suture technique for anatomical repair of the lateral fibulotalocalcaneal ligament complex. This technique ensures adequate reconstruction of ankle joint stability while obviating the necessity for additional inferior extensor retinaculum enhancement.
