Abstract
Open AccessThis paper presents a dataset on digital citizenship among Indonesian prospective teachers enrolled in civic education programs. The dataset comprises responses from 2008 informants representing 41 public and private universities across >22 provinces. It includes demographic information, the types of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) platforms used, purposes of GenAI usage, digital citizenship with four sub-scales, self-efficacy, technology anxiety, and attitudes toward behavior. The dataset holds considerable value for reuse and comparative studies, particularly for researchers investigating GenAI adoption in relation to digital citizenship. It also plays an important role in describing the prevalent of digital citizenship competencies among pre-service teachers. Furthermore, the dataset provides useful reference for future studies in conduction cross-cultural comparisons of AI use in civic education with different global contexts.
