Abstract
Open AccessHepatoid carcinoma of the ovary (HCO) is an exceedingly rare epithelial ovarian malignancy demonstrating hepatocellular differentiation and marked serum AFP elevation. Due to its rarity, existing literature remains limited, and optimal management strategies remain undefined. Emerging evidence highlights the urgent need for improved recognition of HCO among clinicians and pathologists to enable early diagnosis and inform optimal treatment. In this study, we present a case of HCO from our institution and integrate this with a synthesis of recent advances in the field. This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of HCO, with the goal of improving clinical awareness and guiding future research directions.
